Professional overnight caregivers, at your loved one’s home, every night, at one simple flat rate. No hourly billing. No overtime surprises. Just trusted support through the hours that matter most.
Nights are often the most vulnerable time for an older adult living at home. A fall on the way to the bathroom. Confusion at 3am. Medication that needs to be taken before dawn. These moments don’t wait for business hours, and neither do our caregivers.
At LivePeace Senior Home Care, we provide professional overnight care for seniors across British Columbia — from Greater Vancouver, Surrey, and Burnaby to Victoria, Nanaimo, and beyond. Our overnight caregivers are trained, background-checked, and assigned to your loved one consistently, so the face that arrives at 9pm is a familiar one.
Our overnight care service is available as a standalone flat-rate nightly booking or as a seamless extension of daytime dementia care, post-operative recovery support, or 24/7 live-in care. One caregiver. One flat rate. Total peace of mind.
Unlike agencies that charge by the hour, with rates that climb every time your loved one needs help during the night, LivePeace overnight care is billed at one flat rate per night. Whether your caregiver assists once or six times overnight, the rate stays the same.
| What the Flat Rate Includes | What’s NOT Included (Because It Shouldn’t Exist) |
|---|---|
| Caregiver present in the home (approx. 9:00pm to 7:00am) | No overtime charges for extra nighttime assistance |
| Nighttime mobility assistance (bathroom trips, repositioning, transfers) | No separate rates for weekends or holidays |
| Medication reminders at scheduled nighttime doses | No hidden booking or administration fees |
| Fall prevention and continuous safety monitoring | No minimum contract length — book as few as one night |
| Comfort checks and reassurance throughout the night | No surprise invoices at the end of the week |
| Morning handover notes for family or daytime caregiver | No cancellation penalties for reasonable notice |
Overnight care is the right next step if any of the following describes your situation.
Fall risk at night Your parent gets up 2–3 times overnight and you worry every time about a fall on the way to the bathroom. | Dementia & sundowning Your loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia becomes confused or agitated at night — wandering, distressed, or awake at 2am. See our dementia overnight care. | |
Recovery after surgery Your loved one is recovering from a hip, knee, or cardiac procedure and needs overnight support during the first critical weeks at home. See our post-op overnight care. | Family caregiver needs rest You are the primary caregiver but you are not sleeping — because you are listening for your parent all night. That is not sustainable. Overnight care gives you back your rest. | |
Palliative or end-of-life care Your loved one is receiving palliative care at home and needs overnight comfort support and supervision. | Hospital discharge — going home tonight Your parent is being discharged from hospital and the first few nights at home are critical. We can arrange care for tonight. |
Every overnight care plan is tailored to your loved one’s needs and nightly routine. Here is what our overnight caregivers provide:
Nighttime safety & fall prevention
Our caregiver monitors your loved one throughout the night — so if they get up to use the bathroom at 2am, someone is there to assist, not to find them on the floor in the morning. This is the most common reason families first book overnight care, and the one that brings the most immediate peace of mind.
Assistance with nighttime mobility
Help with getting in and out of bed, bathroom trips, repositioning, and safe transfers — performed properly, at any hour, without waking the whole household.
Medication & routine reminders
Many seniors have medications scheduled for overnight or early morning. Our caregivers follow the established care plan and ensure doses are not missed — with notes left for family or the next caregiver.
Dementia & Alzheimer’s overnight care
Calm, trained support for seniors experiencing sundowning, nighttime confusion, or restlessness. Our caregivers know how to respond to dementia behaviours overnight without escalating distress. Combined with daytime dementia care, overnight support creates a complete, continuous care routine.
Post-operative & recovery support
Overnight assistance following surgery or hospital discharge — comfort checks, mobility support, medication reminders, and monitoring for any signs of complication. Available from discharge night onward. See our dedicated post-operative care page for more detail.
Companionship & overnight reassurance
A known, trusted face in the home — someone your loved one recognizes and is comfortable with. For seniors who experience anxiety or fear at night, consistent overnight presence is genuinely therapeutic
Families often ask: “What does the caregiver actually do for 10 hours?” Here is a typical overnight shift
8:45 pm | Caregiver arrives. Brief handover with family — review of the night’s care plan, medications, any concerns. |
9:00 pm | Evening routine assistance — personal hygiene, getting comfortable for bed, medication reminder if scheduled. |
9:30 pm | Lights out. Caregiver settles in a nearby room or the living room — present, awake or lightly sleeping, ready to respond. |
Overnight | Responds to any needs — bathroom trips, repositioning, reassurance, confusion episodes, medication if scheduled. |
5:30–6:30 am | Early morning assistance if needed — first medications, bathroom, initial morning comfort care. |
7:00 am
| Handover — caregiver briefs family, leaves written care notes. Family or daytime caregiver takes over. |
Schedules are adjusted for each client. Earlier arrivals, later departures, and specific task requirements are all accommodated during care planning.

We are actively expanding into surrounding communities to meet the growing demand for specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care. If you’re located near one of the cities listed above, there’s a strong chance we can still support you.

Our standard overnight care runs from approximately 9:00pm to 7:00am — 10 hours. We can adjust arrival and departure times based on your loved one’s routine and needs. If you need coverage outside these hours, ask us about our 24/7 live-in care flat rate.
In most cases we can arrange overnight care within 24–48 hours of your initial call. For urgent situations — such as same-day hospital discharge — call us before 3pm and we will do everything we can to have a caregiver there the same night. The sooner you contact us, the more options we have
Yes. Our overnight care is available 7 nights a week including weekends and holidays, at the same flat rate. No premium rates for weekends or statutory holidays.
Yes, caregiver consistency is one of our core commitments. We assign a primary overnight caregiver and a trained backup. You will not have a different person arriving each night. For seniors with dementia or anxiety, familiarity is essential
Absolutely. Many of our clients receive daytime dementia care or personal care visits and have the same agency provide overnight support. This creates a seamless care experience with consistent communication between daytime and overnight caregivers. We can also transition to 24/7 live-in care as needs increase.
Overnight care covers the nighttime hours only ,the caregiver goes home in the morning. Our 24/7 live-in care plan covers the full 24 hours, with a live-in caregiver present in the home around the clock. If your loved one also needs daytime assistance, our flat-rate 24/7 plan is typically more cost-effective than separate daytime + overnight bookings.
If you’re unsure, call us. We offer a free 30-minute care assessment by phone. we’ll ask the right questions and give you an honest recommendation, whether that’s overnight care, a different service, or simply some advice on what to watch for
