2. What Information We Collect

We collect two categories of personal information:

  • The name, age, and care needs of the senior you are enquiring about

You can browse our website without providing any personal information. No personal information is required to access general information about our services

4. Your Personal Health Information

Because we provide home care services, we may collect and handle personal health information (“PHI”) relating to your loved one’s medical conditions, diagnoses, care needs, and health history. This information is treated with the highest level of care and confidentiality.

Live Peace 24/7 operates exclusively in British Columbia, Canada. Our privacy obligations are governed by PIPEDA (federal) and BC PIPA (provincial). We are not subject to the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). All personal health information collected by LivePeace is handled in accordance with Canadian law.

Your loved one’s PHI is used solely to plan and deliver their care. It is shared only with caregivers directly involved in their care, and with healthcare professionals at your explicit request or with your consent.

We retain personal health information only for as long as required to deliver care and to meet our legal obligations under British Columbia healthcare regulations.

5. How We Share Your Information

LivePeace does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Ever.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With caregivers and support staff employed or contracted by LivePeace, strictly on a need-to-know basis to deliver care
  • With your family members or legal representatives, as authorised by you
  • With healthcare professionals or your GP, at your request or with your explicit consent
  • With our trusted technology service providers (listed in Section 7) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Where required by law — for example, in response to a valid court order or government authority request

Any third parties who process data on our behalf are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your information for their own purposes.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience and to understand how visitors use our site.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Enquiry and contact form data — 2 years from last contact, unless a client relationship is established
  • Client care records — 10 years from the end of the care relationship, in accordance with BC healthcare record-keeping requirements
  • Payment records — 7 years, as required by Canadian tax law
  • Website analytics data — 14 months (Google Analytics default retention)
  • Marketing data (newsletter subscribers) — until you unsubscribe

When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

9. Your Rights Under Canadian Privacy Law

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
